About our Australian Cypress flooring & lumber

​Australian Cypress has become very popular in the USA over the past 20 years and we were part of its introduction into America back in 1991.

The species: Callitris glauca is a conifer native to the eastern states of Australia, mostly in inland New South Wales and Southern Queensland. This species is logged on a sustainable basis as part of the government run Australian Farm Forestry Program.

The wood: Australian Cypress is predominantly golden. Its color varies from cream colored sapwood and yellow-gold to brown heartwood. The grain is closed and tight, with large and small knots.

Uses: The durability, density, nail holding ability, and termite resistance of Australian Cypress have made it desirable for flooring, feature finishes, and cabinetry.

Hardness: Janka rating - 1,375.

Sourcing: Our Australian Cypress Pine comes from sustainably managed forestry farms which are Australian Forestry Standard accredited.
